SV5 (17) Hutt City (31)
Hutt City are a tough team and one we would have loved to beat. The girls started well but were just unable to keep up with the Hutt City ladies. Great defense work by Kelly and Kieran, as well as some great and much needed talking from Gina, playing her first netball game for the season.
SV5 (13) Te Aroha (28)
Terrible game Not sure if it was the fact that it was the second game of the day and the girls were tired, wet and cold or just they just didnt want it as much as TA did. The girls made it far to hard for themselves and let the opposition rule the game from start to finish hence the rather large score difference.

Nice and cold start this week!! We
had a tough game as we were a few players short, but thanks to the girls who
filled in!
It was a better score than last time we played Naenae though, so we are still
improving

You could have had it girls you really could. It was a pretty close game all the way through however the young fit opposition worked hard to maintain their early lead. Even though this wasnt a win use are playing and working together so much better than you were when you first started out, which is just awesome to see. Remember drive forward and watch your passing. Player of the day went to Hana, for both her shooting and overall court work. Thank you to Rio who filled in for this team and worked well with Hana in the goal circle.

It was always going to be tough this week. The team finally has a win and then the next week we have players out due to injuries. The girls that filled in did well but it's always hard adapting to new players and this game was a classic case of this - all the same thank you to the girls that filled in and helped make up a full team to take the court. As much as we wish we could win every week it doesn't always work that way. You did well and with Raylene's last game this week hopefully she leaves on a nice win.

We had two games this week. First game we lost 32-7 to Te Aroha. It was not our best game, but Raylene (player of the day) was outstanding in defence. She played very hard and put her all into the game and it paid off for her as she played awesome. Turns out we were just warming up for our second game though as this was a much better game! We lost 27-22 against Hutt City, but this was by far our best game this season. At the end of the third quarter the score was 18-18. Everyone on court played well and it was the first game where we seemed to click together. It was also the most goals we have scored all season. I (Amanda) was player of the day at Goal Shoot. We are looking forward to Round 2 and seeing more of what we did in this game!

A better game played by Stokes Valley as we are slowly starting to improve, although we did have a few ring in's - thanks Michelle and Virginia. A great game played by Renee in WD who was our player of the day. I think 18 goals is our record so far, so we are really improving and can only keep getting better. Next up we have 2 games in a row so that will give us good game time before we play SV4 the week after!

It was another tough team to play against. HSOG looked like a team who had been playing together for some time now (with their scary/tough coach) where as Stokes Valley 5 are still a very new bunch of girls and are not quite at the same level. But it will come! They started to get it together towards the end however it's hard playing a catch up game against such a strong team. A great game from Kieran O'Meara, hence the reason she won player of the day for such a great defensive game. Don't worry girls, the potential is there and I'm sure it won't be long till use, are coming away with a great win :

We played the top of the table and we are sitting bottom of the table. Was always going to be a hard game for us, but I think we played ok considering. We are starting to play a bit better together, but still have a lot to work on. It's a great team though and everyone has a good attitude so we will only get better and better. Especially with two trainings this week!
