Hey hey hey! What a sunny day Taita
finally gave us after all the rain aye! Yaay! As always and without fail,
Stokes Valley Rugby 2 struggled to take the court with a full team again!
Playing with only 6, really up beat, a bit disappointed, committed, BUT, ready
to rock players. We were open to watever our opposition had to throw! First
quater against Nga Morehu was a challenge but with our defence pretty on
point it was more a battle with our shooters getting those shots up! By the
time second quater rolled around our girls were warm and hungry for the
ball!
Third quater we were neck and neck and it was a battle of who wanted it
more. Stokes Vegas was on the come back.... We were up....then we were even....then
we were down then even. In the end their strong shooting and extra player
prevailed and they got on top of us when it really mattered. Final score reflecting
an awesome challenging game 28 - 26! Very proud of those 6 hearty players!
Congrads to Teeze who earnt player of the day with a number of important tips
and an outstanding defence game. Its all about enjoying the game, win, lose
or draw!

A lot closer score than what it has been for this team. Plenty of good plays just not enough follow through with getting the ball down the court. Slowly getting there, the improvement from the beginning of the season is clearly noticeable. Well done to Teeze who received player of the day for her awesome defence.

Unfortunately it was another loss for this team. But hey you can only get better right? Most of you haven't played together before so it takes time to get use to each other but hang in there and give it time because when it does come together I'm sure you will be looking very sharp on the court. The ability is definitely there!

HV Marist 5 - 32
Well we have finally clocked in our
first win! YAAAY US!! We played Hutt Valley Marist. Was a good game, can finally
say we are starting to gel together as a team. There is better balance on the
court and we are playing with a defined purpose woohoo!
Thank you Beks your shooting was on point. Miria and Teresa, great working in
the shooting circle ladies Well Done! Training is paying off after all!. Had
a few rebound battles but always finished it off. Congradulations to our defence
overall. Because of your hard work we stopped them from scoring for the whole
half of a game! That is awesome ladies! We did have the advantage though as
they did only have 6 players, so please dont get complaisant we still have a
whole other round to go! It is always good when the oppositions captain comes
to thank us for the game saying 'it was the best game they've had in this competition.
A great reflection of our sportsmanship! Thank You Team we are on our way YAAAAY!!!

We lost to Waiwhakaata on Saturday 31 - 11. However they were a very strong team overall. They had a strong shooting and mid court game. Nice game Waiwhakaata! Dont count us out yet! We had a few outstanding players but the Player of the Day was earnt by Carmen Hanes. What an awesome game for you girl! You were a defender to be reckoned with, Too much You!

Senior 2 had a frustrating start to the game on saturday. There was a bit of a mishap with umpires, resulting in a team member having to come off the court to umpire our game. Thank you Teresa Kenny for stepping up to that job. Im sure it would've been a challenge. Job Well Done! No excuses though, we come out with our second loss 11-34 to NNCU10. Was a good game overall and we will be fine tuning our game plan at training to hopefully turn our losing streak around. Player of the Day went to Kandice who got many intercepts and tips and had an awesome defence game!

Ummmm! Well our team had a good first
game, was a 34 - 13 loss! Ulalei were a great opposition with strong shooters.
Unfortunately we were let down by team members not showing up. However some
awesome things come from that game. Briar Kopa recieved Player of the Day for
displaying awesome driving onto the ball and versatility with the constant position
changes. Well Done! We have a few things to fine tune but we'll only get better.
Great Job Girls!!
